Got an Iphone and took some photos in Seoul

So what you see here is the riverside next to Moony's studio. The other guy us packing something to sit on into his bag. The ground was pretty clean though, but maybe his girlfriend had a fancy skirt.

This photo is taken by Pyo, I asked him to send it to me. Many dogs, wow.

LOTTE everywhere! And a towel in a window.

The yellow men. Made out of plastic in Kora, in Japan made of wood.

Meeting point.

Swiss, Swedish and Koreans before the mosquitoes came.

A view towards North Korea, a tourist attraction.

Seoul is cozier in the evening.

Seeing an american conductor and inviting her to our table because she looked so lost.

That's it.
Bye!

some japanese art

I think it's time to talk a bit about japanese art.

I think I like japanese art the best when it's absurd. Before I started to study at an art academy I was very fascinated by surrealism. I used to know nothing about art so I just didn't know that Salvador Dalí paintings were so horribly ugly. As I got into the world of contemporary artists I learned to dislike the aesthetics of those surrealist painters. I think here in Japan I start to like surrealism again. Because it has humour.

Here comes some works from artists I like:

Yokoo Tadanori

I'm not much for his paintings, but I like the wood sculptures (and furniture pieces) by:

Keisuke Yamamoto

And maybe my absolute favourite:

Kobashi Yosuke

a word called inhibition

I learned a new word today. I have been looking for this word for such a long time, but how do you find a word that you don't yet know?

The word is "inhibition". It means to restrain from acting naturally because of embarrassment, you know some things are just not socially acceptable for some reason.

I checked up the swedish translation, it is "hämning"

Suddenly the word lost its charm, because I know "hämning" since before. I've heard it in so many contexts, it became spoiled.

Then I started to read about the word "hämning". Suddenly it started to reclaim its charm.

More fish, more wood.

I continued conserving fish by drying them, filling them with wood flakes and sewing them together. Indeed it feels like a mixture of an ancient burying ritual and stuffing animals for display. I prefer the burying ritual.

I want them to move around in the room. Here along a branch.

I really want them to "move around" in the room, so I try to make small constructions for the sticks. I don't like this one above, so I'm trying out a new way now (have no photo yet).

Another one that I don't like.

Better! i think.
That square will be jammed with lots of fishes. Like in a small pond with too many fishes.

This one is like 4m long or so. It will be crowded in certain parts. Never mind the big penis next to it, it's not mine.

My friends and I in Japan

I went to an orange fix-temple. My mother and Jeni would have liked it, my mother because of the orange and Jeni because of the foxes.

I had a birthday dinner.

Oh oh oh! the moment Evita is considering buying the penis rock! Let me tell you, I admire her ability to see beyond the phallic associations. She just "well it does look like a penis, but it could also be some kind of tower on a rock, it's nice, I like it!". I bet all sculptures face a moment when they accidentally make a penis. There are so many shapes, but our minds wants to see body parts in everything.  We walk around in the nature and then suddenly "look, there is a face in that rock!", "don't you see these hills are a pair of breasts, these fried eggs too!", "this strange carrot look like a little carrot man!". That's human psychology. Perhaps the dogs think stuff look like dogs.
